Splinter (2024): Writer and Movement Director

Splinter, by Gemma Prangle, unearths the restlessness of grief and how nature manages to hold us in those moments where holding ourselves feels impossible.

The play stars Nia Gandhi (Enola Holmes 2, Casualty, Pijin/Pigeon) and Rhys Parry Jones (House of the Dragon, A Very English Scandal, Eastenders), and is co-directed by Nerida Bradley and Matthew Holmquist.

“I didn’t set out to write a play about grief,” says Prangle of her beautiful debut play, “but I think sometimes our personal experiences sit so strongly in our bodies that those stories find a way to be told.”

This production has been made in partnership with COPE Community, who have provided wellbeing support throughout the process. Red Oak would also like to thank Arts Council Wales and Philip Carne Foundation for their continued financial support.
